animated-logoIn 2016 I conceptualised an accessible energy modelling software that would help democratise the process, create useful outputs, and equip under-resourced places and peoples in the world to help them plan and implement sustainable energy system transformations.

In January 2018 work began and Energy Swarm modelling software will be available for use in participatory processes with groups wanting to explore possible futures for their local (sub-national) energy system.

In 2014 Isabel designed and carried out an electricity scenario project for Egypt which developed 7 different pathways for how Egypt’s electricity provision could develop between 2015-2035. ‘80GW of Change: Egypt’s future electricity pathways’ was a significant piece of work as the first participatory energy scenario ever developed in Egypt, and the first time civil society has constructively and quantitatively added to the energy debate.
